Template:Infobox component Uranium is an ore that can be obtained from resource nodes but does not currently serve any purpose. It is used to make Nuclear Fuel Rods. It gives off radiation.
Radiation
Currently, Radiation can be received from Uranium nodes, Uranium, Nuclear Fuel Rods, Uranium Cells and Nuclear Waste. While Radiation is in effect, the screen will become slightly distorted, an icon will appear next to the health bar, and it will make noises (and beep when it's extremely strong). This signifies that the Engineer has a Geiger counter integrated to its suit.
An untouched Uranium node doesn't give off any Radiation, until a Miner is placed on the node (even if is it unpowered), the Radiation radius is ~30m. Conveyor Belts and Storage Containers don't protect from Radiation, making it a ~60m radius.
Radiation from items in miners/containers/belts or when dropped on the ground damages very slowly (around 2 health points per minute), but picking it up will kill the Engineer in seconds.[1] Other creatures such as Stingers or Lizard Doggos seem to ignore Radiation completely, as they take no radiation damage.
In Tier 7, a Radioactivity Resistant Suit can be unlocked alongside nuclear power. Having the suit on won't stop the noises, but will prevent from taking any Radiation damage.
Obtaining
Uranium can be harvested by hand (not advised, it will damage you severely), by placing a miner on a resource node, or rarely collected by a tamed Lizard Doggo.

There are currently 4 Uranium resource nodes in-game; All 4 are Normal Purity.[2] This means the upper limit of harvest rate is 2.400 Uranium/min (Mk.3 miners, 250% overclock, Mk.6 belt).[3]

Notes
- Beware when disposing of uranium as it can currently cause a glitch, in which the area acts as if a dropped piece is still there.
