The Spore Flower is the unofficial name given to one of the enemy types found throughout the satisfactory world.
Appearance
The Spore Flower appears in the world as a large, brightly coloured flower on the ground, with its bright blue stamen pointing directly up towards the sky. A closer look will reveal a set of 6 legs or roots tucked underneath the red petals of the plant. The Spore Flower was first shown to the public in the Satisfactory E3 trailer.[1]
Behavior
The Spore Flower will remain "dormant" (in its normal appearance in the world as detailed above) until the engineer approaches it, at which point it will jerkily raise itself on its legs/roots, when it is finished it will begin to unfurl its stamen. When the stamen is completely unfurled the plant will begin to shake the 3 fronds which it unfurled from its stamen, producing a gaseous poisonous substance, that will diffuse into the air.
This behavior can be halted by moving away from the plant, at which point it will perform the cycle in reverse, re-furling its stamen and lowering itself back onto the ground. Once the Spore Flower has begun to produce the poisonous gas however, it will no longer respond to player presence, it will produce its gas for a few seconds and then go dormant again.
Occasionally, the Spore Flower will react to other creatures in the same manner it does to the player, however, other aliens do not appear to take damage from the gas.
Combat
There is currently no known way of removing or killing the Spore Flower. Engineers are recommended to ignore it when passing as it poses no immediate threat, the process of emitting gas is too slow to be a danger unless you remain in its activation range.
Locations
The Spore Flower is most often found around the various collectibles and exploration rewards that can be found around the map such as Somersloop, Mercer Spheres and Power Slugs. They are often in groups, with the number of Spore Flower present sometimes exceeding 15, or being as few as 1.
