The Nuclear Power Plant is a building that generates power using Nuclear Fuel Rods, turning them into Nuclear Waste. It has one input for the fuel and one output for the waste. Now after update 3, requires Water to be inputted from a Water Extractor using a Pipeline.
Produces 2500 MW at 100% Clock speed, for 300 seconds, so one Nuclear Fuel Rod provides 750.000 MJ.
In the Animation Developer Highlight, it was revealed that the design of the Nuclear Reactor has been changed.[1]
Trivia
- The old version shown in its teaser video had the nuclear reactor exposed to the outside. The fuel rods were operated by a robotic arm, which could occasionally drop the fuel rod to the cooling liquid under the reactor. The input was in the front and output in the back rather than right next to each other.
