The 
HUB Parts is used to build The HUB (despite its name, it is a single item). You get them by demolishing the drop pod at the start of the game by pressing F, aims at the drop pod and hold down the Left click for 1 second.
The HUB parts will be returned to the player, if the player happens to lose it.
