Hey, about my edit that you canceled. I've never seen anyone cutting the main part of a word and making it a link leaving the plural ending as is. Some examples: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planet_of_the_Apes "fantastical travel narratives", "the chimpanzees". Look how the whole word is a link and how it links to an article that's name isn't in plural form. I can give you even more examples if you want, this was the featured article on the English version of Wikipedia.
Having a page linked as [...]s is a standard Mediawiki feature, the article does not benefit by any means by making it [...s] (looks identical while reading and there's less clutter while source editing) https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Links#Internal_links
I swear when I edited it it looked differently: only 'Engineer' was a link and s was regular text... Damn, I need to sleep.
