The extraction rate is modified depending on resource purity. Outputs all extracted resources onto connected conveyor belts.

The Miner Mk.3 is the improved version of the Miner Mk.2 which mines at 400% speed.[citation needed] It is a building used to extract ore resources (Iron Ore, Copper Ore, Limestone, etc.) from resource nodes around the map.

It is unlocked after completing the tier 7 milestone "Bayer Process"[citation needed]

Mining Speed[edit | edit source]

The formula for Mk.3 Miner mining speed is:

(mining speed)=4*(purity modifier)*(overclock percentage)*60

Purity modifiers; Impure = 0.5x, Normal = 1.0x, Pure = 2.0x.

With a non-overclocked Miner Mk.3 you will get the following mining speeds:

Limits of the Mk.3 Miner[edit | edit source]

The Mk.3 Miner has one significant limitation in the Conveyor Belt Mk.6. As it currently stands, the Mk.6 Conveyor has a Transportation Rate of 900 units per minute.[citation needed] In contrast the Mk.3 Miner can produce 1,200 units per minute on a pure resource node with overclocking set to 250%. The maximum clock rate the Mk.3 Miner should be set at on a pure node is calculated as follows:

(mining speed)=480*(overclock percentage)/100=900 | *100

90,000=480*(overclock percentage) | /480

(overclock percentage)=187.5 -> 188%

This will overproduce by 2.4 units per minute, filling up the miners exit slot in 41 Minutes and 40 seconds.
