Iron ore is a base crafting component used as a first ingredient for many recipes.[1] Iron ore is produced by Miners built on top of an Iron Resource Node.

Obtaining[edit | edit source]

Iron ore can be located using the Resource Scanner shortly after the engineer leaves their drop-pod. It is currently the most common type of ore in the game. It can be mined by hand or by using any of the miners.

Normal 34 8160 20400
Pure 47 22560 56400
Total 105 33600 64260* / 84000

*Note: The maximum rate with a Miner Mk.3 at 250 % is 1200/min, whereas a Belt Mk.5 can only carry 780/min, so the maximum mined number is not possible to transport.

There are currently 105 Iron resource nodes in-game; 24 impure, 34 normal, and 47 pure, 2 of those being blocked by cracked boulders which can be removed by Nobelisk Detonator.[2] This means the upper limit of harvest rate is 64260 Iron ore/min (Mk.3 miners, 250% overclock, Mk.6 belt).[3]

Harvesting[edit | edit source]

With a Miner Mk.1, 30 impure iron ore, 60 iron ore or 120 pure iron ore is produced every minute using 5 MW of power.
