A Freight Platform is a building on the Railway where Freight Cars can be loaded or unloaded, based on the setting of each Freight Platform.[1]

It has to be attached to a Train Station to work and only snaps to it (alongside other platforms). It has 2 inputs and 2 outputs and the size of an Industrial Storage Container (48 slots) for Solid Freight Platforms, or 2400 m3 for Fluid Freight Platforms.

Loading and unloading[edit | edit source]

  • No manual interaction with the Freight Platform and the Freight Cars is allowed during automatic loading / unloading of the cargo.
  • All belts connected to a freight platform are paused for the 25-seconds during loading and unloading.
  • Partial loading / unloading occurs if either the receiving freight car or the receiving freight platform is partially filled.
  • No partial loading / unloading if the remaining space is less than a stack of item. For example, if the freight platform left half a stack of iron ore before fully filled, there will still be no unloading from the freight car.

Animation[edit | edit source]

Each of the following loading/unloading animation takes 25 seconds:

  • Full loading: The 20T crane hoist up the container from the freight platform and put it onto the low loader freight car.
  • Partial loading: The 20T crane hoist up the container from the freight platform and hover it over the freight car. The doors below the container open and the contents flows from the container to the freight car. The container is then put back to the freight platform.
  • Full unloading: The 20T crane hoist up the container from the freight car and put it into the freight platform.
  • Partial unloading: The 20T crane hoist up the container from the freight car and hover it over the freight platform. The doors below the container open and the contents flows from the freight car to the container. The container is then put back to the freight car.

In all cases, the animation is complete only after the crane moves back to its original position. Continue reading: Train Station#Docking

Power[edit | edit source]

  • A Freight Platform consumes power only when loading or unloading a Freight Car and consumes only 0.1 MW otherwise.

Flushing[edit | edit source]

A Fluid Freight Platform has the 'Flushing' option, similar to Pipelines and Fluid Buffers.
