The chainsaw is a tool used to cut down all flora in a target area by consuming Biofuel. It allows the Engineer to harvest things that can't be harvested by hand, such as trees, some shrubs, and small rocks, or to clear an area of these things. It requires biofuel in the inventory to run.

Usage[edit | edit source]

To use the chainsaw, approach some flora, such as a tree. The tree will be outlined white if it can be cut down, and then hold down the primary fire (default Controls) during the animation. During the cut, the chainsaw cuts all flora in a small radius around the player. Some nearby small rocks will also be destroyed and yield limestone, although the rocks can't be targeted directly. All items produced by the destroyed flora will be transferred into the player's inventory. Biofuel will be consumed from the player's inventory while the chainsaw is out and in use, even if there is not a valid target for it.

The chainsaw can not be used as a weapon and will not damage any creatures.
